If you happened upon a few extra gift cards this holiday season, why not consider starting a new hobby? Fly tying is a great way to add a new dimension to your fishing experience. There are a ton of reasons why you should do it. Click this to read more.
- Pick a fly you would like to start tying. (Start with a simple nymph or streamer that you fish a lot).
- Go online and search for a recipe for that fly and a video demonstration on how to tie it.
- Make a list of the material you need. Include: A vice, tying scissors, head cement, and a Black Bodkin with a Half Hitch tool and all the materials listed on the fly recipe. Don’t forget the hooks.
- Go to a fly shop (in person or online…email me for suggestions) and shop. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
