Know Your Water Levels

You have to know the water levels of your streams and how to fish them to become more effective each time out.  Or you could stay at home and get angry at the weatherman   There are people that won’t fish unless the conditions are ideal.  For CROs time is essential.  We travel and sometimes those travel dates are locked in and not changing no matter what the forecast is threatening.  Last year we arrived in Maine to find our favorite area in a flood watch for the first three days.  We fished sun up to sundown carefully with great success, but we had to adapt to rapidly changing water levels.  Know up to date water levels (here is a link you can use to do that.)  Take some time to figure out how to target fish when the conditions are less than ideal.  They don’t stop eating, it’s your job to figure out how to feed them a fly.
