It’s happens to the best of us. We get everything together in a rush of excitement brought on by the opportunity to take a last minute jaunt to the stream and we forget our wading boots (or other important gear.) In the grand scheme of things it is much worse to forget a rod, reel or fly box. This happens from time to time as well. I have often seen the dejected looks of fly fisherman standing behind vehicles staring into empty trunk space hoping their forgotten gear would appear. Wipe that stupid look off your face. So you forgot some of your gear. You have 3 options.
1. Go home (LAME.)
2. Drive to the nearest fly shop and reload. (My favorite option because it means new gear.)
3. Improvise. (A fun choice bound to get some laughs from your fishing buddies.)
This is a picture of Shawn. He chose to improvise.
