Must Watch: The Movies That Changed The Game.

I don’t know when you were birthed into the fly fishing world; but I fear if it has been in the last couple of years you may have been missing out on some very important fly fishing viewing.   They used to be the Angling Exploration Group (now reconstructed or reformed or maybe even started entirely new as MOTIV FISHING) and you can make the case that these guys can be blamed for the start of what has become the Fly Fishing Film Tours.  That is if you can call being blamed for awesomeness, being blamed at all.

Their recent project is called GEOFISH Mexico Volume 1. The first of 7 films, recorded in 7 years covering 7 continents.  I hope they survive it all…but we will get back to GEOFISH in a later post.
For now you have some catching up to do.  As the Angling Exploration Group these guys put together some films that really started all of the exploration fly fishing filming you see today.  Maybe I should say they started capturing their fly fishing experiences in a whole new way for entertainment purposes which revolutionized the fly fishing film business.  Both statements would be correct.  What they did as AEG was truly game changing.  I remember watching Trout Bum Diaries 1 in Patagonia and thinking, “These guys just changed everything.”  Every year upon their newest release I would pick up a copy and watch it over and over again.  It became the background music in our living room.  My young children grew familiar with the AEG faces and loved watching these movies just as much as they loved watching Sesame Street. Win-Win.

But I digress.  Let me get to the point.  These are must watch movies.  Like a great book start at the beginning and get to know the characters as you watch some amazing fish and fishing.
